Windsor Sonoma Winery's Environmental Commitment  From our vineyards to your table, we are committed to sustainability, defined by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance as "Winegrowing and winemaking practices that are sensitive to the environment, responsive to the needs and interests of society-at-large, and economically feasible to implement and maintain." And as we make ongoing progress we feel it's important to keep our customers and community in the loop. We've made good progress! Here are a few highlights. Joined the California Sustainable Winegrowing Program to help us objectively measure our sustainability and define areas for ongoing improvement. Completed a comprehensive energy audit with the help of Resource Solutions Group. This resulted in a plan for specific investments we will make to reduce our energy use by taking steps such as: - Installing more energy efficient lighting and light sensors Initiated a bi-lingual recycling education program in English and Spanish, with support from our friends at Redwood Empire Disposal. We pride ourselves in being great neighbors and community members. We regularly contribute wine, volunteer time and other resources to many community fundraisers and non-profit causes. |
